Archie Wright, D.O.

Dr. Archie Wright moved to Jackson in 2007 from Jackson, MS. When an opportunity came to join Cancer Care Center in 2009, where every practitioner and staff member treats patients with such high regard, dignity and compassion, Dr. Wright couldn’t resist. He takes pride in treating his patients as though they were family members. “I like the long-term relationships formed with my patients and their families. I seek to develop a unique bond with my patients, and they really make the difference. Cancer is a humbling experience, and I do my best to take care of my patients.”

The addition of Dr. Wright to Cancer Care Center brings a broad range of clinical experiences to this team. He is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. He initially received his pharmacy degree at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, Mississippi, and went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri. He then returned to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, where he completed his internal medicine residency. His hard work and dedication was honored when he was appointed a chief resident position in Internal Medicine. A three-year fellowship in oncology and hematology soon followed.

Dr. Wright believes it’s important for cancer patients and their loved ones to learn as much as they can about the disease. Dr. Wright prides himself with staying current on the latest emerging treatment strategies and talks with his patients about their diagnosis and treatment options.

Dr. Wright and his wife, Tanya, have two children. Away from the office, you can find him doing what he is most passionate about, spending time with his family and just being a dad. He also enjoys golfing, watching movies and reading fiction.
